Finally - Down Under! Although from New York you literally have to travel halfway around the world, the trip is well worth it: Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities with it's famous Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and beautiful beaches. The pace is nice and slow, everybody seems really friendly and people enjoy life. I could go on and on, but pictures speak louder than words…

Above is Sydney's skyline stretching from the Opera House to the central business district. Below you can see the Sydney Harbour Bridge at night, which is used to host the fireworks every January 1 as the city greets the new year as one of the first places on earth. You can also climb the bridge to the very top during the day with a guided tour, but I have saved that trip for next time
