Finally… European style furniture at a discount price within the boroughs of New York City! After years of taking the 'Ikea bus' from Port Authority to Elizabeth (New Jersey), we now have our own IKEA - the newest store of our Swedish friends just opened its doors in Red Hook, Brooklyn this June.

And to make it as convenient as possible for all New Yorkers, Ikea provides a free 'shuttle service' from Manhatten to Ikea in Brooklyn by Watertaxi! The journey alone is worth the trip: you board the 'taxi' at Pier 11 right at the end of Wall street and float along the waterfront of lower Manhatten, past the ruins and warehouses of Red Hook right to the shiny blue building with the yellow letters… Just going back and forth on a sunny day with a quick lunch-stop for Swedish meatballs would be a day well spent!
